Continuing in the spirit of celebrating our unique city this holiday season, photographers, writers, editors and publishers, Chris Edwards and Elaine Weeks will come to Juniper Books on Saturday December 22nd armed with copies of their latest book; 500 Ways You Know You’re From Windsor.
The book functions as a scrapbook of sorts, documenting the lifestyles of Windsorites and the evolution of the city from World War 2 to the 21st Century. Over 650 photographs preserve, in image-form, sites where many beloved memories were formed for Windsor dwellers; sites like Bob-lo Island, the Elmwood Casino, and the Skyway Drive-In among many others. It is also an excellent resource for anyone curious about the rich history and evolution of the city of Windsor and includes interesting tidbits like how the city was named; a decision which was made in a local tavern when Windsor was no more than a small scattering of log cabins and clap-board houses.
Edwards and Weeks have created five previous books together and have collaborated with local authors on more than thirty book projects in addition to producing the historic magazine entitled: The Walkerville Times for seven years. On Saturday, December 22nd, Edwards and Weeks will be a Juniper Books from 12:30pm-4pm to sign copies of 500 Ways You Know You’re From Windsor and share this “nostalgic trip down memory lane”.
